Mr. Jonas Owen Vanderbilt Jr.
A native of New Iberia, Louisiana, Mr. Vanderbilt has been blessed with an extraordinary talent. At a young age, Jonas was dancing, putting together groups of his peers and producing shows for the city’s youth. His blessings were further enhanced while joining his high school band and after one year becoming again a leader of his peers; the Assistant Drum Major and for the following two years head Drum Major. A saxophonist, he played a many solos and was awarded many awards while in his tenure at New Iberia Senior High School. Jonas, a graduate of Southern University-Baton Rouge is where his talents became pronounced. As former member of the world renown Southern University “Human Jukebox” Marching Band, Jonas began learning dance technique form from fellow band members and within a year became an instructor of dance at a local studio and choreographed for many colleges, high schools, and community dance teams and organizations as well as landing many gigs with artist.
After becoming a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Jonas was allotted the opportunities to choreograph for a numerous national winning step teams for not only for his own fraternity, yet for many other fellow Greeks organizations as well. A national dance adjudicator for American All Star and other professional dance companies, he has succeeded in becoming a household dance name in the South.
Conceiving the vision of a dance team of his own on the campus of his alma mater, the dance team, The Gold N Bluez was born. Within two short years of instruction, hard work and determination, the team became national dance champions for over four different competitions. Jonas is proud to say that many of his former dancers and other dancers he has developed have become professionals in this respective arena becoming members of professional NFL, NBA, and AFL dance teams. Also, a number of his former dancers have toured and performed with national recording artists. His choreographing talents have been displayed in music videos and concert tours. Producers of videos and artist, often rely on him for locating dancers, actors and models for fashion shows, videos and movies. Not to mention he has been a feature dancer in some productions as well.
Jonas is everything that any young budding talent needs to draw their talents out of them and put into their highest potential. Jonas is ready to provide his talents to the youth in a professional and well equipped and organized facility with this plan for a company that will over take the Southern Region.
